To CNN, please stop showing me detailed information about Roman Polanski and his past crimes and films about his crimes or whatever – I just don’t care. Please take a poll as to how many people watching your programming actually care about this guy. If I want info on Roman Polanski Ill go watch entertainment tonight or read US magazine or whatever other hollywood rag its being covered in. I don’t watch CNN for this – I want relevant world news or I change the channel. Stick with Health Care. Stick with the wars in the middle east. Stick with issues affecting all Americans. Make sure your advertisers know how many viewers you are losing for them when you decide to cover this kind of useless information.
Bill Maher is a genius…
Viewing a photo of an obese man holding up a sign protesting health care reform…”You cant complain about health care reform if you’re not willing to reform your own health”
“Im glad all those tea-baggers marched on washington last week, because judging by the photos, its the first exercise they’ve had in years”
Who do you trust?
I never rely on any company to tell me about the quality of their product – only to inform me that their product exists. Companies just cannot be trusted to give unbiased information. They will lie, cheat, steal and do whatever else it takes to increase their profits and maximize the number of shareholders. Now I fully realize there are companies out there that are actually honest and care more about customer satisfaction and producing quality products than raking in profits. To these companies I apologize. Unfortunately you have to work extra hard to gain the consumers trust in an environment where greed is the primary motivating factor.
Thank god for the internet. In a time where its so easy to access almost limitless information about a product or service, Im sure companies are having to scramble to keep us looking at their advertising and away from the opinions of unbiased consumers. I’m hopeful that more companies will take the stance that its smarter to spend more money on quality and customer service and less on slick crafty deceptive advertising. For these will be the companies I continually seek out.
WoW: Cataclysm
The 3rd expansion for World of Warcraft was announced at BlizzCon yesterday. Looks like a lot of fun.
What’s a Blog?
Some of you may not be familiar with what a ‘blog’ is. Basically it’s just a log or journal or diary that happens to be written, published and managed on the web. ‘Web log’ shortened down to simply ‘Blog’. It’s very easy for anyone to simply log into a special web section of a site to write something and hit a ‘publish’ button in order to put your words on the site. These posts are organized in many ways such as tags and dates and categories. For instance if you like to write about different things you can tag a post with a keyword in order to filter all such posts in the future if you want to search for something. People visiting the site can then comment on your post and you can respond as well. You will see many of these features here already and more will come up later.
